Fake Local Sites is a public-interest project documenting websites built to look like local businesses but operated as lead-brokers — pages that collect a homeowner's contact information and sell it to multiple unrelated contractors.

What we are

• An open record of sites we've reviewed.
• Transparent, reproducible evidence on every entry.
• Tools to make reporting these sites to Google, the FTC, BBB, and state AGs one click.

What we are not

• We are not contractors.
• We do not sell leads.
• We do not accept advertising.
• We do not endorse any specific contractor or lead-gen service.

How we fund the work

The project is self-funded. We do not solicit donations.
